The animations here are a little more on the ‘cartoon’ side when compared to other gangster themed slots, but they are still made with attention to detail and fit the theme perfectly. The darker color scheme was a good choice and the jazz music that plays was the perfect choice for this game. Reel Gangsters has two special features, one of which is the most unique special feature we’ve come across in a long time…
- Bank Heist Bonus
This feature is triggered when players spin into at least 3 SAFE bonus symbols. The more SAFES you spin into the higher your bonus winnings can be. Players will then be taken to the first of 5 pick ‘em screens. The first is the ‘Weapon’ pick ‘em. Each of these has a money value to them, and when selected, will be revealed. The next screen is the ‘Car’ pick ‘em. There are 5 choices again, but one of these will reveal a ‘Game Over’. If that is selected the bonus round is over. Next is the ‘Case The Joint’ round. There will only be 4 choices here, one of which will be the Game Over. Next is the ‘Steal The Key’ round. There are 4 choices, one of which will reveal a Game Over. If you make it to the final round, you can open 1 of 4 safes. However, 3 of the 4 will reveal a Game Over.
- Free Spins
This feature is triggered when players spin into 3 or more NEWSPAPER scatters. 3 NEWSPAPERS will get players 5 free spins. 4 NEWSPAPERS award 10 free spins. And 5 NEWSPAPERS will get you 25 free spins.
To Play Or Not To Play?
That is the question and the answer is a big time yes. There’s a lot to love about Reel Gangsters. The theme is, of course, top notch, and is done with detail and flare. The wide bet size range makes this perfect for all types of players, and the bonus rounds are great as well. The Bank Heist bonus is quite involved, but bonus rounds usually are, so we didn’t have an issue. We’d love it if the Free Spins came with a multiplier, but that’s a small issue. Overall, players will have a blast playing Reel Gangsters.
